This article will provide you with information of how to restart your Node Agent service on the system.
Situations like this may occur when you have upgraded your Node Agent Package and you will require to restart the service for it to take effect.
In order to restart the Node Agent service, you will need to ensure that you have Administrator (root for unix) access to the system.
Without the appropriate access level, you will not have the ability to restart the Node Agent service or process
Restarting the Node Agent Service
To restart the service on Microsoft Windows, please follow the steps below
- Click on the Start button
- Type in services
- Right click on "Enterprise Recon Node" and select on "Restart"
Once you have launched the Services management window, you should have the ability to select on restart.
Note: If the option is greyed out, this shows that you are logged-in as a non-administrator user.
On Unix platforms (Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX)
You may directly restart the service with the use of terminal.
- Login to the system with root or sudo access
- Type in "/etc/init.d/erecon-node restart"
Note: Once the service has been restarted, it will return to the shell prompt as shown above
After you have restart the Node Agent service, the host should be visible within the Enterprise Recon console.
